Kelly and Tracie Ward are newly settling into their home in Charleston, South Carolina.  Celebrating 17 years of marriage and five children, they are excited to begin this new chapter in their lives.  As they settle their family of seven into Charleston they will make room for more children to join their family.

Tracie Ward has had a sensitive heart toward children in need for as long as she can remember.  Her love for children has spread to her husband, leading the couple to begin their first adoption from Korea in 2008.  While they were in this process, Tracie found out that she was pregnant with twins.  Due to their adoption agency’s policy, they had to put their adoption on hold during the pregnancy.   As Kelly and Tracie rode this rollercoaster of emotions; from the excitement of adopting to the exciting news of twins, this rollercoaster continued with a great sadness when they found out they had lost the twins 23 weeks into their pregnancy.

As 2010 rolled around, Kelly and Tracie, opened up their hearts to adopting domestically.  In June of 2011, they received news that a birthmother had chosen them to be the parents of her baby.  They lovingly supported this birthmother through her pregnancy and had weekly contact with her.  But six weeks before the baby’s due date, the birthmother disappeared and was never heard from again.

Through the excitements and disappointments, the Ward’s still believed in adoption and wanted to open their home to children in need of a family.  In April 2012, they traveled to Haiti.  It was there that Kelly’s heart was overwhelmed with love for these children.  While their previous adoptions were with younger children in mind, this trip opened their hearts and minds to the older children without families.

Currently, the Ward’s have been matched with a sister and brother living at a crèche in Haiti.  In June 2013, they returned to Haiti with their oldest daughter to meet the siblings they wait to welcome into their family.  Please pray for the Ward family as they remain faithful to these children they already love.  Please join them on this journey by giving to Village to Village Intl. on their behalf.  The Ward’s will be able to use 100% of all gifts given to help cover their adoption fees and travel expenses.
