Our Story
Justin and Denise Stuit live in Kansas City, Missouri. They have been married 11 years and have a 2-year old son, Calvin. Last year, Justin was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Due to Justin’s chemotherapy and radiation treatments, their oncology team told them they may not be able to have any more biological children. Yet they knew God had a plan for them. Towards the end of Justin’s treatment they had again started to talk about growing their family, but hadn’t taken that next step of starting the adoption applications. Then, one Monday night they were reading their devotional and were reminded of James’ challenge to go beyond just thinking and listening, and to start acting. One week after Justin’s last clean scan they called an adoption consulting office and officially started the adoption process.
They are so thankful to have their faith in and strength from God, as well as support from all of their family and friends. Surprisingly, they are also thankful for the lymphoma because not only did it bring them closer to each other, but also closer to God. They are, however, very excited that the lymphoma journey is over and are thrilled to start this next journey of adoption!
