We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our Village to Village Intl. family…
We officially have our very first intern!

Meet Molly Mounsithiraj, a compassionate, thoughtful, tea-loving, trauma-informed rockstar in the making.

Molly, tell us a bit about yourself.
I grew up in Goshen, Indiana, with my parents and five siblings (two sisters and three brothers). My family’s story is beautifully intercultural. My dad is a refugee from Laos, my mom grew up conservative Mennonite, and when I was 7, my family adopted my two younger brothers from Ethiopia. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for trauma-informed care and supporting vulnerable families.

Now, I am a student at Bethel University, studying Behavioral and Social Sciences, and I am set up to graduate this May. After graduation, I’m heading into a Master’s in Social Work program.

Why Village to Village?
I first connected with Village to Village Intl. through my school in the fall of 2023 and began volunteering with our HALO Program. After a short meeting with Anthony, I knew this was where I needed to be.

What Drew You In?
Village To Village’s commitment to treating every child and caregiver with dignity, compassion, and respect. That’s the kind of mission that sticks with you, and the kind of mission I am proud to be part of.

What Are Some Fun Facts About You?
When I’m not studying or serving families, I love:
Playing card games
Doing crosswords
Curling up with a good book
Enjoying a cozy night at home with… You guessed it… hot tea

My all-time favorite movie is While You Were Sleeping. So much so that my childhood nickname was “Lucy,” just like the main character.

If You Could Solve An Issue, What Would It Be?
If I could solve one global issue overnight, it would be hunger. I believe access to food is the foundation for everything else. My passion for meeting basic needs aligns with VTV’s mission to support families holistically.

What Are You Hoping to Learn?
During this internship, I am excited to:
Grow in my knowledge of trauma-informed care
Connect with others who care deeply about vulnerable families
Learn what it takes to walk alongside families with compassion and purpose
I’m especially excited to help with our upcoming HALO Program, working behind the scenes to support children in foster care and adoptive families.

Advice You Live By?
The best advice I ever received was “Remember your why.”
In the human services field, there aren’t always thank-yous or quick wins. But remembering why the work matters, helping people find wholeness, wellness, and acceptance, keeps me going.

What’s Next for you?
2026 is shaping up to be a big year! I will be:
Graduating in May
Getting married in August
Starting the next chapter of my education and career

Welcome to the Team, Molly!
We are beyond grateful to have Molly as our first-ever intern and even more grateful for the heart, passion, and joy she brings to Village to Village Intl.
